Mission & Service / NEAR

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah 61:1-3

World Vision Storehouse

One Saturday per month from 9:15 am to 3:15 pm, a team from Living Hope heads down to the South Bronx to stock shelves at the World Vision Storehouse. It's a fun van ride down, and there's pizza for lunch! Manufacturers and corporate donors supply World Vision with quality hygiene and household essentials, school and office supplies, clothing, healthcare and medical items, and more - all aimed at improving the quality of life for families battling poverty. Volunteers sort items into kits, then World Vision supplies the kits to churches, shelters, schools, and clinics that serve children and families in the greatest need.

Community Partners

Our community is blessed with a host of wonderful organizations founded to teach people about God's love and come alongside those in need - which at some point in life is all of us. If you are in a place in life today where you can help someone in need, consider serving at one of these organizations. The Living Hope Community Church Missions Fund (14 percent of the annual budget) supports each of these ministries financially.
